of value through the development of new, judiciously selected, private
enterprises in developing countries.
- To optimize the sustainable utilization of untapped agricultural,
mineral, and human resources by providing incentives for indigenous
creativity in developing countries.
- To practice an "everybody-win" strategy in the process of
linking the entrepreneurial tradition and biotechnologies that are available
in industrialized countries with the resources and potential business
opportunities that currently exist in developing countries.
- To provide venture capital and to participate in holding companies
and technology transfer bodies set up to use biotechnology as a tool
for sustaining the integrity of the global environment.
- To make full use of the expertise and worldwide contacts of the BIOFOCUS
Foundation in the search both for investment opportunities and for synergistic
liaison with various international and local organizations active in
the development field.
